" Community media is regarded as one of the most important channels for promoting inclusive democratic participation due to its potential in reaching populations that are not easily covered by mainstream media" 

Community media is regarded as one of the most important channels for promoting inclusive democratic participation due to its potential in reaching populations that are not easily covered by mainstream media.

Through the Democratic Empowerment Project (DEP) from 2013 to 2016, UNESCO has been strengthening community media as a platform for community dialogue, promotion of gender equality, and sustainable development.

" The new production studio, based at the Open University of Tanzania, will enhance the production and broadcasting of quality content for community outreach, acting as a platform to facilitate content production, resource sharing and increased technical capacity of COMNETA and its affiliated community radios. " 

The new production studio, based at the Open University of Tanzania, will enhance the production and broadcasting of quality content for community outreach, acting as a platform to facilitate content production, resource sharing and increased technical capacity of COMNETA and its affiliated community radios.

The  launch event aimed  to increase the publicity and visibility of the production studio, COMNETA, and UNESCO achievements in the area of community media development. The launch  also serve to inform stakeholders on the modalities for access and usage of the production studio.
