The Marahaba Swahili Music Festival is a festival which happens annually in the city of Dar es Salaam since 2012. It offers a platform for local unknown and popular musicians/bands and cultural troupes to showcase their musicianship, artistry and the rich cultural music of Tanzania.
Over the past 4 years, the Festival has worked extensively with local musicians and musical groups to improve the knowledge base for musicians and provide trainings on copyright matters which are still a challenge to many local musicians.
In 2015 Marahaba festivity involved different musical groups that play Tanzanian indigenous music in different musical styles and forms. It also invited international artists from Burundi and Uganda respectively.
The festival was held at Biafra grounds in Kinondoni Municipal, Dar es Salaam. Much local music fans and nearby residents around the place attended the festival.
